I efficiently inspire growth, innovative change, and new perspectives for humanity. The recipe for success includes not only the acceptance of failures, but also the willingness to try alternative approaches. I use creativity and imagination to help guide solutions and direct paths during problematic situations. As a solutions-oriented professional, I identify the needs of a client and then draw upon inspired creativity to guide action plans to efficiently improve their quality of life. Clients express appreciation for my integration of humor and playfulness into our interactions, and the find my intelligence, abilities, and humility to be refreshing.

Prior to relocating to Hawaii in 2013, I was employed at a short-term respite house for children and teens. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree cum laude from Ashford University in 2015, at which point I decided I wanted to inspire efficient change in the lives of young people. I assessed the needs in our community and designed an effective program for life skills coaching and teamed up with professionals to aid in the implementation of this program. My obtained my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California, May of 2018. I completed my post-grad internship under supervision of Matthew Brittain, MA, LCSW, DSCW with Effective Change LLC.

I am now accepting clients for tele-mental health services.


Matthew Brittain, MA, LCSW, DSCW, DABFSW

Matthew Brittain is a Licensed Clinical Forensic Social Worker in private practice in Hilo, Hawaii. A graduate of Hana High School, he attended UH Hilo to obtain a BA in psychology and Hawaiian Studies. Proficient in Hawaiian language, Mr. Brittain went on to UH Manoa to create his own MA in Hawaiian Language at the UH Center for Pacific Islands studies, while also completing his Masters in Social Work (MSW) at UH Manoa. Practicum placement at Kulani Prison working with Incarcerated Male Sex Offenders, Mr. Brittain acquired skills in risk assessment and reduction related to human predatory behavior. In addition, this Practicum placement provided the foundation for his interest in Forensic Social Work, Rules of Evidence, and ways to empower his clients in the legal-judicial system. Internship completion at Hilo Medical Center Extended Care Facility Skilled Nursing Facility provided Mr. Brittain with Medical Social Worker knowledge, Skills and Experience. Continuous private practice in Hilo, Hawaii, since 1997 has placed Mr. Brittain as a solid Pillar of Society and respected professional in the legal/mental health community.
